Diet for children

Here are 8 things that should never be eaten before the age of 1

As the baby gets older and older, mothers will try to add complementary food to the baby to meet the development needs, but the baby’s digestive system is still very delicate after all, some food may be rich in various nutrients in the eyes of adults, but our baby is “not happy to enjoy”.

If your baby is less than one year old, please remove the following foods from your baby’s diet.

1. Rice soup

It is believed that most of the precious mothers and fathers were fed rice soup when they were young. The older generation thinks rice soup is nutritious and easy to digest, so they will feed it to their children. But the truth of the matter is that rice soup contains very little in the way of nutrients other than carbohydrates and water.

The purpose of adding supplementary food for babies is to supplement iron. The body needs of 4 to 6 months of baby iron is equivalent to that of an adult, and breast milk is iron-poor food, so it needs to be obtained from food. Feeding the baby rice soup at this time is obviously the opposite of our purpose. In the older generation, due to the scarcity of food and lack of better nutritious food for children, rice soup was the first choice.

Baby’s first mouthful of complementary food is suggested to contain iron rich rice noodles.

As mentioned above, the baby is in urgent need of iron supplements, so iron-rich rice noodles and red meat puree are the first recipes. However, rice noodles are more convenient to prepare, so rice noodles are recommended. Secondly, the rice flour mentioned here is not the rice at home ground into powder, the premise is rich in iron, the rice in the kitchen is not only mostly starch, more likely to exceed the metal content, must choose baby special rice flour.

2. Pure milk

Some mothers may not have enough breast milk, it is suggested that the baby can match formula milk powder, although pure milk and formula milk powder are dairy products, but the former contains protein is difficult to be digested by the baby, will cause a burden to the baby’s stomach and other organs. Even if the mother is doing complementary foods need to add milk, pay attention to the addition of formula milk, choose the baby corresponding months of milk powder.

Step 3: Salt

When making complementary foods for babies, mothers put a little salt in complementary foods in order to make the food more flavorful or worry about the lack of sodium in the baby’s body. This practice is wrong.

“Dietary Guidelines for Chinese residents” has clearly mentioned that baby supplements should be light, and salt is not recommended within 1 year of age. Accidentally eat too much salt will cause a burden to the baby kidney, will also affect the body’s absorption of calcium, the baby drink milk really became white water.

Baby complementary food in green leafy vegetables is actually a little salty, rich in a variety of vitamins, as long as the baby has a normal meal, is not to add extra ingredients. Mothers in the mashed meat can use ginger to fishy, usually do complementary food can put a few drops of lemon juice, in short, do not put salt on the line!

Step 4: Honey

Rumor has it that honey is rich in nutrition, detoxification and defecation, beauty and beauty, and good for the skin. When making complementary food for the baby, it can’t help but be accompanied with some honey. The reality is that honey contains a lot of sugar, a little water, and a negligible amount of minerals, which means it’s mostly sugar for your baby. Secondly, when bees collect honey, they may bring pollen with botulinum toxin back to the hive. Botulinum toxin can survive 100 degrees Celsius. If eaten by babies, it may cause “poisoning”.

Step 5: Juice

Some mothers in order to facilitate the baby to eat fruit, will put the fruit juice to the baby to drink. However, the dietary fiber in the juice has been destroyed, and the nutrients in the juice are mainly water and carbohydrates. And the baby drinking fruit juice for a long time will resist the plain water without taste, develop the habit of drinking water with sweet taste, intake of sugar increase, thereby causing hypertension, obesity and other diseases. Regular drinking of fruit juice will also have an impact on the baby’s teeth, easy to form cavities. The American Academy of Pediatrics made it clear in guidelines published in May 2017 that fruit juice should not be included in the diet of babies under 1 year old.

If the baby is over 1 year old, it is also necessary to control the intake, and do not ignore the disinfection and sterilization process of juice production.

6. Whole nuts

Although nuts are rich in nutrition, but for babies under 1 year old to eat, there is a safety hazard – throat jam. The swallowing function of the baby is not perfect, eating granular food is likely to get stuck in the throat and cause suffocation because it is too late to swallow. In addition to nuts, such foods as jelly, spiny fish and gummy should also be on the blacklist. The baby also tries not to tease her when eating, to avoid laughing and causing the food to choke on the trachea.

7. Boil watercress

Parents should not be misled by the name, thinking that the water boiled green vegetables will have the nutrition of green vegetables. In fact, the water may contain pigments on the surface of green vegetables or attached pesticides. Take this water to the baby to drink, not only no nutrition, but harmful to the body, or dump it.

8. Snacks

When adults eat snacks, the baby will feel sorry to see, let the baby have a bite. Don’t do that. Snacks in a variety of food additives preservatives, etc. to the baby to eat will affect the development of the body. Most snacks are high in calories. The habit of eating snacks may cause obesity and tooth decay. It is recommended to put them away.

The mother’s greatest hope is that the baby can grow up healthy, that diet can be strictly checked, quickly write it down on the wall.
